What is REAL LIFE?
REAL LIFE is a group of people who are both single and married in their 20’s and 30’s. It is a way of making Christ-centered friendships, learning more about your Catholic faith, and helping you in your Christian journey.
What do you do?
REAL LIFE offers tons of opportunities. Whether it’s a ski trip to Colorado, a spring afternoon of Ultimate Frisbee, a Bible study on a topic you’re questioning, or a chance to give back to the community, there is always something for everyone.
When do you get together?
- Every Monday Night at 7 pm there is SMALL FAITH GROUP where we study a topic together and try and apply it in our lives.
- We have REAL LIFE Nights where we bring in speakers and gather for some fun, fellowship, praise and worship and a great talk.
- We have at least one or two social events each month which vary in time and place. Sometimes it’s a Friday night happy hour or game night other times we might meet to go to a theater performance or have a fiesta!
- Community Service opportunities vary. Whether you want to play BINGO or go Christmas Caroling at an assisted living facility or volunteer with the LIFETEEN program, there are lots of ways to get involved.
- Theology on Tap is a Kansas-City-wide young adult program that meets at local bars for drinks and discussion on topics that are relevant to young adults.
- We have retreats, conferences, concerts, trips, and all kinds of other opportunities for young adults!
Why wouldn’t I want to get involved with REAL LIFE?
Well, there could be many reasons you wouldn’t want to get involved let’s address them here in this TOP TEN LIST:
10 – You don’t know anyone: what a better way to meet people? We’re all fun and welcoming!
9 - You don’t have time: the great thing about REAL LIFE is there are varying levels of time commitment and involvement. Just come when you can and don’t worry if you can’t make it to everything every time.
8 - You can’t relate to “churchy types” Perfect! There is a lot of diversity in our group and all different kinds of people, so you won’t be alone and you can continue to add a new dynamic to our group by being there!
7- You’re not into all that “religious” stuff: No problem. You don’t have to enter the convent or go be a missionary in India. Come to a happy hour or join our co-ed softball league in the Spring. You can meet people and have fun and maybe sooner or later you’ll have some questions about some of that “religion stuff’ and you’ll know lots of cool people and friends who can help you find the answers!
6 - What if I don’t like it or am bored, lonely, or miserable? Then don’t come back! J Just kidding. Scientific studies say that you have a much higher percent chance of being bored, lonely and miserable being a couch potato than going to a REAL LIFE event.
5- 2 – I can’t think of any more reason’s you wouldn’t want to come to REAL LIFE except the number one reason:
1- You don’t like to have fun and you don’t want any new friends!
