Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist faithfully assist the ordained ministers in distributing the Holy Eucharist to the community of Holy Trinity. They perform this duty during liturgical celebrations and by distributing the Eucharist to parishioners in the community who are unable to attend Mass.
This ministry is both a great privilege and a humble service to our faith community. Please consider this amazing opportunity to serve!
What we do:
Provide the Eucharist to homebound parishioners in their homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Time commitment
We normally attend morning mass, and then go directly to the nursing home or facility. Home visits are arranged individually. Visits usually take one hour. Some facilities are visited on Sundays, and others are visited during the week.
Training
No formal training is required but volunteers do accompany an experienced visitor until they feel comfortable on their own. Two or more individuals normally visit the facilities, while home visits are done individually.
